In late September Kent and I attended the Fujifilm GFX100 II exclusive preview cocktail party. If you have followed Kent’s photography journey, especially his Street Fashion Sydney blog, you would know that he has been a long-time user of Fujifilm X series cameras. Not only was he sponsored by Fujifilm Australia as a local ambassador of Fujifilm X-Pro1, but he was also one of the sponsored users of Fujifilm X100F in 2019. Just a little background history so you now know that Kent’s relationship with Fujifilm Australia runs deep.
The location of the event took place at the Watersedge at Campbell’s Stores in the Rocks. We were delighted to walk into a room of live music and dancers performing contemporary ballet. The walls were decorated with printed photographs, taken by, of course, the Fujifilm GFX100 II. A huge table that was packed with appetizer snacks and antipasto platters awaited. Freshly cooked finger food too offered by the waitstaff walked about the room. I sipped my glass of bubbly and realised just how much I missed face-to-face social events like this after being through COVID-19!
About halfway through the event, came the speech time. Fujifilm Australia’s CEO Ryuichi Matoba took the chance to welcome the guests. Mr. Matoba proudly introduced the latest product – Fujifilm GFX100 II to us. Followed by the General Manager Shaun Mah. Other X-photographers who spoke that night were Glenn McKimmin, Dan and Zora Avila. Each shared their personal experience from shooting with the latest model.
Kent and I chatted with several guests that night. They were mostly photographers, camera retailers, and Fujifilm X series enthusiasts. We all shared our pictures taken by the Fujifilm cameras passionately during our conversations. My recent posts (click here, and here to view) came in handy thanks to the usage of Fujifilm X-T1 photographs.
Thank you again for the invite to Fujifilm Australia and Fujifilm Campaign Lab. Kent and I had a great time!
P.S. All images from this post were taken by the Fujifilm X-T1.
Hi Vivienne,
I always enjoy coming along every so often and reading where you and Kent have been, although I don’t comment very much.
Peter
Thank you for your friendship and support, Peter. It means a lot to us!
