This invitation-only event Kent and I attended recently, was the VIP launch party of City Tattersalls Club’s Corporate Concierge Business Lounge. Limited to 100 members only, with $12,000 annual fee; one could benefit from his/her own concierge club with superior facilities in the heart of the city.
The venue of this high-end club for professionals is on level one of City Tattersalls Club (CTC). Kent and I were welcomed with French champagne on arrival. The cover photo was taken in the dining area which has its own restaurant, bar and a grand piano. Take a few steps up, a joined section of three open lounges and another bar awaits. Velvet sofas, nicely stocked wine cabinets; oak wood furnishing and crystal glassware… Being the most exclusive and expensive new club in Sydney, one wouldn’t expect anything less.
French champagne was flowing, and guests were enjoying a live piano performance and jazz song duo; mouth-watering canapés were never in short supply… This gave us a chance to experience what it is like when calling this club your own to entertain your clients or simply networking with other like-minded people.
About half way through the evening, Marcelo Veloz, the CEO of CTC and Patrick Campion, Chairman of the Corporate Concierge’s new club fired up the microphone and gave us all a warm welcome. During his speech, Mr. Veloz mentioned that having using the airline’s business lounge frequently had given him this idea and ‘we have a suitable space for it’ and we agreed. ‘What this is all about,’ Mr. Veloz added, ‘..is to provide a premium location, in the centre of the Sydney CBD, to conduct business and networking opportunities.’ I think the purpose of having this elite club has been said clearly right there. Kent was very pleased to meet singer Kamahl, who was among one of the special guests that evening. (He even called his father Max, who’s a singer himself, about his surprise meeting with Kamahl after the event.) ‘I felt like one of the fancy pants!’ I remember saying that to a fellow guest who complimented on my yellow velvet suit. Kent and I enjoyed the generous hospitality and we both had a great time!
Thank you Markson Sparks PR & Celebrity Management for the invite; it was lovely catching up with you Max. Also thanks to Catalina (CTC Corporate Concierge) for your assist. We look forward to see you again.
