The Pantone Color Institute has named Living Coral the Color of the Year for 2019; stating that the colour ‘is evocative of how coral reefs provide shelter to a diverse kaleidoscope of color’.

In these challenging days of serious environmental issues, it’s nice to be able to wear a colour and just perhaps, shows some solidarity and nod in the direction of helping our planet. Personally I wear coral simply for the love of the shade, it is one of my favourite reds after all.

In this set of fashion portraits, Kent and I showcase this graceful, retro-inspired rockabilly dress against a sea-of-green-hedge in the lovely formal gardens of Château de Bagnols. Well the hedge and the coral are more a contrast than a hiding place! I styled this peachy hue number with yellow gold accessories to enhance the warmth.

The Beaujolais region of France put on another gorgeous summer day for our photoshoot. In my upbeat mood I fantasied dancing around like Kate Bush in her Wuthering Heights music video… (hello that red dress, the wild hair and the green field – hint hint!!) Well, let’s face it, no one does Kate Bush as brilliantly as Kate Bush does herself.. guess I’ll save my high kicks and flying arms for another occasion.

For those of you who haven’t tried wearing coral, don’t be fear the hue; my advice is to find a perfect shade to suit your skin tone. For trend followers, there is still plenty of time to show off your ‘Color of the Year’ ensembles. This is a joyful colour to me, ideal for both day and night outings and end-of-year parties!
